"The level of racing will be very high. It’s hard to predict how our guys, who have completed Giro d’Italia ,will feel, but we will definitely show up with ab ambitious and fighting attitude."

A part of the line-up from the Giro d’Italia with the addition of a few riders who feel comfortable in the mountains, will participate in the upcoming Tour de Suisse for CCC.

"It’s the third UCI WorldTour stage race this season for our team," Piotr Wadecki, sporting director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice, says. "Most of the stages at Tour de Suisse are hilly. It is a perfect terrain for Grega Bole, who is aiming for stage success. The typical climbers will have a chance to shine on stage 2 to Risch-Rotkreuz with two cat.1 climbs in the end and on stage 5 to Sölden which will be probably the hardest day of racing in this event. Basically all of the riders from our roster for the Tour de Suisse are solid in the mountains and everyone is capable of delivering good results on the stages. It won’t be easy to fight for the GC though since for many riders Tour de Suisse is the last test before the Tour de France and they will be close to their top form. The level of racing will be very high. It’s hard to predict how our guys, who have completed Giro d’Italia ,will feel, but we will definitely show up with ab ambitious and fighting attitude."

This year’s edition of the Tour de Suisse consists of 9 stages (1320km in total). It will start and end with a time trial. The prologue in Risch-Rotkreuz will be 5 kilometers long and on the last day of racing the riders will cover a distance of 38,4 kilometers. The organizers have planned a few demanding stages, but one of them stands out. Stage 5 is 237 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 4100km. The finish is located in Austria on the top of the 15km ascent which ends at the foot of the Rettenbach Glacier. The 12-14%  slope will make a lot of the riders suffer.

The Polkowice-based team participated in the Tour de Suisse in 2014. Apart from the riders who took part last year (Rutkiewicz, Samoilau, Rebellin), three other CCC Sprandi Polkowice riders have raced her in their careers: Grega Bole, Stefan Schumacher and Sylwester Szmyd.
