Lampre Merida did not decide to extend Chris Horner’s contract, the winner of the 2013 Vuelta. The 43 year-old rider is now looking for a team for next season. Rumors announced he would join the CCC Polsat Polkowice Sprandi, but the general manager Piotr Wadecki denied according to Eurosport Poland.
"We were not interested in the proposal. Horner is older than me. It would be funny if he and I and our old man Davide Rebellin sat at the same table. We would have well over a hundred years between us."
CCC Polkowice Sprandi nonetheless re-sign one of the oldest of the bunch: Davide Rebellin. We find in the ranks of the Polish team also German Stefan Schumacher and Slovenian Grega Bole.
