CCC Polsat has confirmed the rumours that the team has signed a contract with Branislau Samoilau who will return to the professional peloton after one year of riding with his national team. The team expects the experienced Belarusian to play an important support role for captain Davide Rebellin who recently renewed his contract for another year.

Having announced the renewal of Davide Rebellin's contract in the weekend, the CCC Polsat team continues the process of strengthening their roster for the coming season. On the same day when the Rebellin contract was confirmed, rumours surfaced that the team had signed Branislau Samoilau and Maciej Paterski for the coming season.

The team has now confirmed that Samoilau has indeed signed a contract with the Polish team and will be part of the roster in 2014. He is a strong Belarusian who was seen as one of cycling's major talents but he never fulfilled his potential. He rode for the Acqua e Sapone team in 2007 and 2008 and took his only pro win on a stage of the Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda during that time.

After a short stint on the Amica Chips team, he signed with the QuickStep team where he stayed for 2 years, finishing 3rd in the Tour of Austria and 12th in the Criterium du Dauphiné. Afterwards, he had two unsuccessful years at Movistar and obtained no personal results of notice.

He was unable to find a new team for the 2013 season but rode select events with his national team, winning a stage in the Tour of Malopolska. Those results have now allowed him to return to the professional peloton.

He is expected to be a key support rider for Rebellin who has often found himself rather isolated in the 2013 races.

"Branislau will be helpful in many stage races," athletic director Piotr Wadecki said. "He is a very experienced rider who will be  a very important support for the team in the time trials and for Davide Rebellin in the mountains."

The team still hasn't confirmed the signing of Paterski who rode for Cannondale in 2013.
