With the Tour, Olmpics and Worlds all big goals for Mark Cavendish, he has taken it slowly this season on the road. He aims to win stage one of the Tour de France and says there is no set plan to DNF the race, but he is aware he may need to pull out.
“I aim to go to Paris and see what happens,” Cavendish said last week in the British press. “Don’t get me wrong, last year the last few days were so crazy hard and I was in bed for four days afterwards. I can’t really afford that before the Olympics, so we’ll take every day as it comes. But I don’t have a plan to stop the Tour.”
Cavendish has said just one stage win is enough for him and its safe to say winning eh first stage and taking yellow is the one he would like to triumph at.
