Unsurprisingly, Fabian Cancellara has been awarded the title of best Swiss rider of the 2014 season. The Trek rider wins the prize for his consistent performances in the monuments.
Fabian Cancellara has added another title to his palmares. The Trek Factory Racing rider has received the Swiss rider of the year award that he already won in 2010.
In 2014, Cancellara continued his impressive run of succes in the monuments when he won the Tour of Flanders and finished second in Milan-Sanremo and third in Paris-Roubaix. He failed to achieve the same kind of success in the second part of the season, failing at the World Championships, but his consistency in the sprint was enough to be given the award.
MTB rider Jolanda Neff won the title in the women's category after a successful season in which she won the U23 world championships and the elite World Cup.
