Julien Bérard was one of many victims of a crash-ladden 7th stage of the Giro d’Italia yesterday.
The rider of the AG2R La Mondiale team suffers a non-displaced fracture of the lateral quarter of the left clavicle, a diagnosis confirmed by radiological examination. Therefore, he has to retire from the Giro d’Italia prematurely.
Bérard will be examined on Monday by Dr. Eric Bouvat, the team medical manager, who will decide whether a surgery is required and the duration of his recovery phase.
