Bradley Wiggins, the current individual time trial world champion, is definitely disappointed. The British rider, in preparation for his Hour Record attempt on June 7, does not succeed to break the 10-mile record this Saturday.
"Wiggo" won the event in 15 minutes and 58 secondes, not enough. Indeed, Movistar Team rider Alex Dowsett did a better time (15 minutes and 20 secondes), on the course held on the A63 between North Ferriby and North Cave.
At the beginning of this month, Dowsett set a new Hour Record on 52.937 kilometers at the Manchester Velodrome. After this performance, Wiggins said he could "break the record tomorrow".
He hopes to do a great performance and wants to ride 55 kilometers in one hour. "It was a realistic target", he added.
