In Castiglione della Pescaia at the finish of the sixth stage of the Giro d'Italia, two Southeast riders made it into the top 10: Manuel Belletti was close to the podium and got the fourth place, followed by Alessandro Petacchi in sixth.
However, there was no joy after the finish as the team feared for the fate of their former rider Daniele Colli who had gone down hard in the finale.
"I did a good comeback," Belletti told Rai at the finish. "I just missed a few metres and was very close. We will win in the next stages. Tonight I just hope that Daniele's injuries are not serious and that he will recover quickly to be back in the peloton soon."
