According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mark Cavendish wont ride the Giro but Tom Boonen will finally ride the event for the first time in his 14-year career.
These claims were reportedly made by Etixx-QuickStep manager Patrick Lefevere ahead of Paris-Roubaix yesterday.
Boonen is returning from an injury that ruled him out of the Classics and Cavendish is going to ride the Tour of California, where he won two stages last year.
