Tom Bohli (BMC) has managed the jump to the pro level in a successful way. The 22-year-old Swiss won the prologue of the Three Days of West Flanders (2.1) where he also finished 8th overall and with third places in the final time trial at the Three Days of De Panne (2.HC) and the prologue of the Tour of Luxembourg he achieved another two podium places.
"I am actually very happy with my first pro season. I have adapted well to the team and even be able to celebrate a victory. The balance sheet is therefore quite positive. To ride the spring season was really a highlight,” the neo-pro told radsport-news.com.
As a strong time triallist, Bohli was also in contention for a spot on the BMC team for the World TTT Championships, especially since he had just been part of the BMC squad during the Eneco Tour. But because of an injury, he had to cancel his start at short notice. "This was an absolute low point," said Bohli who was able to start the U23 time trial and take an 8th place there.
In, 2017 Bohli wants to confirm his good first pro season. "I am optimistic and ambitious at the same time and will try to get some more victories and podium places," said the BMC pro who also hopes to be part of the team for the World Championships.
