Floris Gerts finished sixth for the BMC Racing Team in the bunch sprint finish that capped Friday's stage of the Arctic Race of Norway.
Sam Bennett (Bora-Argon 18) took the win in the 162.5-kilometer race ahead of Federico Zurlo (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team) and Stage 1 winner Alexander Kristoff (Team Katusha), who kept the overall lead.
Gerts is one of three stagiaires called up from the BMC Development Team earlier this month. Among his victories this year is a win at the Under 23 edition of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and a stage of the Tour de Normandie.
"That is a good result for him," BMC Racing Team Sport Director Yvon Ledanois. "He has good morale for tomorrow."
