Carlos Betancur may have had a turbulent 2014 season where he failed to return to Europe in time for the Tour de France. Nonetheless, the Colombian is satisfied with the outcome of the year in which he won Paris-Nice.
"For me, 2014 was a good year," he told CyclismActu. "I won a World Tour race which was important to me."
The Colombian is now turning his attention to the 2015 season when he hopes to return to his best level.
"I have done the same preparation as in previous seasons. I have two main objectives: the Giro and the Vuelta . I will also try to take advantage of all the races I attend ."
Betancur welcomed the exceptional generation of Colombian riders. " There are a lot of promising young Colombian riders. I find them very good and I think Colombian cycling is doing quite well. ".
