After his overall victory at the Tour of Alberta on Monday, Bauke Mollema hopes to be at the top in the coming days into the final pair of World Tour one-day races at the Grand Prix Cyclistes in Quebec City this weekend.
Currently in America, he told about his win in Alberta. "The uphill finishes were hard but the team time trial was the key for us this week. We are really happy to win the GC. It is really nice for me because it's been several years since I've won a general classification and that is really special. It's been a great week."
"I will race the classics in Quebec and Montreal, I like those races, so that's a goal for me and the goal for the team," Mollema said according to Cyclingnews. "They are two WorldTour races, so they are really important. I think that Alberta was a really good preparation for the Quebec races because it was a six-day race, and there are only three days between the two events, so I think this was the best preparation for those classics."
He added he is in a great shape and in confident. After the Canadians races, he will try to support his leaders at the Worlds. "I go to the World Championships in a support role for Niki Terpstra, Tom Dumoulin, maybe, or Lars Boom," Mollema said. "They will be our leaders and I'm happy to go there and support them."
