Ag2r did a reasonably good team time trial at the Criterium du Dauphiné but team leader Romain Bardet still lost 1.00 to Tejay van Garderen and Rohan Dennis on the 24.5km course.
"This kind of exercise is not my specialty," he said. "We had a minor problem with a puncture for Ben Gastauer. We remained homogeneous and we worked a lot. We all gave 100%.
We will try to make up for this in the end of the week. From Thursday, we will have a hard profile every day. There is room to be aggressive. We saw the scenario last year when the situation was reversed. We have a team to change it."
