Even in the queen stage with the Colle delle Finestre, Androni Sidermec was in the spotlight as they had been in the previous stages, sending Marco Bandiera into the break.
The Italian managed to consolidate his lead in the sprints competition with the points scored in the two sprints and also secured the win in the aggressiveness competition for the second year in a row.
The team led by Gianni Savio and Giovanni Ellena raced not only for these two competition but also for a stage win. This was demonstrated by the performance of Franco Pellizotti who got an important top 10 result. The team leader was 8th in Sestriere and as usual he has been strong in the third week of the race.
