On August 17, Alessandro Ballan will be allowed to return to racing. The 35-year-old Italian is currently suspended because of his involvement in the Mantova case, but the Court of Arbitration of Sport CAS has decided to shorten his suspension, according to a report at TuttoBiciWeb.
In January 2014, Ballan was suspended for two years by the Italian Olympic Committee but he made an appeal. His suspension has been shortened by five months. He last did a professional race in July 2013 and will need to find a new team before he can return to action.
