"The rain fell all day, with Laurens in the breakaway we knew the race was good and hard."
Those were the words of Bakhtiyar Kozhatayev after stage four at the Baloise Belgium Tour. Kozhatayev finished behind stage winner and overall race winner Greg Van Avermaet on the final day of the Belgium Tour on a hilly circuit in the Ardennes.
Teammate Laurens De Vreese escaped into the early breakaway on a day with 10 categorized climbs and a complete change in General Classification after overnight leader Matthias Brändle abandoned Sunday's final stage due to digestive problems.
Kozhatayev lead the main peloton across the line in rainy Sankt Vith and will now return to training before his next race appearence at the Tour de Suisse in June.
