"Sometimes we only need to look at each other once and the teamwork begins."
Those were the words of Paolo Tiralongo after stage six at the Tour de Pologne. Tiralongo and teammate Fabio Aru shared looks to animate the race together in the Queen Stage of the Tour de Pologne on Friday over a rolling circuit around Bukovina and the foothills of the beautiful Tatras mountains.
Astana Pro Team rider Diego Rosa worked in the second half of the race to set a high pace and reduce the peloton to an elite group of less than 20 riders for Aru and Tiralongo.
Aru finished 8 seconds behind stage winner and new race leader Sergio Henao of Colombia and now sits 7th in General Classification, 17 seconds behind with one final stage on Saturday, an individual time trial in Krakow.
Astana Pro Team riders Andrea Guardini, Alexey Lutsenko and Borut Božič all withdrew from competition on Friday in order to recover from a hard week in support of Aru in time to start the Eneco Tour in the Netherlands on Monday.
