The Dutch team sends eight riders to the one-day sprinters’ race in Germany.
This race, now in its 18th edition, saw Tom Veelers place ninth in 2012, but this year he will be looking to help Marcel Kittel or John Degenkolb to continue their successful seasons.
“The Vattenfall Cyclassics is a big race, and we will head into it with a strong and motivated Degenkolb as leader,” said Sports Director Rudi Kemna. “With Kittel we also have a co-captain that can score in this race, but we have to see how he has recovered from a cold at the Eneco Tour.
“We have some great support for them, including Koen de Kort (NED) and Tom Dumoulin (NED) as riders that can give a superb support at the end.”
Argos-Shimano line-up for Vattenfall Cyclassics:
Bert de Backer (BEL), Roy Curvers (NED), John Degenkolb (GER), Tom Dumoulin (NED), Marcel Kittel (GER),Koen de Kort (NED), Albert Timmer (NED) and Tom Veelers (NED).
