For the second day in a row, Franco Pellizotti suffered in the Giro.
The captain of the Androni Sidermec was in the leading group when he had to not only slow down but also to stop due to cramps. Today the scene was repeated in the hinterland of La Spezia, when he was in the break on stage four of the race.
Showing character, he had wanted to fight back and overcome adversity. Together with teammate Simon Stortoni he was in the break that decided the stage but again cramps took him out of contention.
