At 32 years of age, Bandiers has spent the last three years of his career with Androni Giocattoli. He had hoped to sign a contract which Wanty Group Gobert before Lieuwe Westra got the spot.
The Italian has decided to retireand focus on the brand of socks that he launched with his friend Tiziano Dall'Antonia who also stopped his career this year.
Bandiera willleave the world of professional cycling without victory,despite a few places of honor, including tops 5 in stages of the Critérium du Dauphiné, the Giro and the Tour of Austria.
