Androni Sidermec didn't miss the first break of the Giro d'Italia. Marco Frapporti attacked right after the start in Albenga and as part of a group of five riders covered more than 150km in the escape that characterized practically the whole day.
In Genoa, right after the finish, team manager Gianni Savio praised the team: "Congratulations to the guys who followed the instructions given in the technical meeting. Marco Frapporti was one of six riders who were supposed to be in the first break and Davide Appollonio had to sprint. Frapporti won the sprints in Savona and Varazze while Appollonio finished in the top 10, taking eighth place."
