Following a very emotional reaction of Vincent Lavenu to Lloyd Mondory's positive test, the Ag2r-La Mondiale team present at the Paris-Nice read a statement before the beginning of the third stage of the event. The message was clear: there is no place for cheaters in the professional peloton.
Samuel Dumoulin took responsibility of speaking for all Ag2r-La Mondiale riders and read the statement, which said:
„This doping case striked at us badly, it hurts. Not only us, but our families, French cycling and whole discipline in general.”
„All of us have been working so long to rebuild our image again and situation like this creates a bad picture of our discipline. Our sport doesn't deserve it.”
„Cheaters have to be removed and we hope that one day every single rider will understand that only parformances based on hard work are truly valuable.”
