In order to end a 2015 year with 24 victories, the whole AG2R LA MONDIALE team will meet in the Oisans mountains from the 16th to the 20th of November for its first training camp.
The training programme will include physical exercises and tactical adjustments in anticipation of the next season. During the event, a special partnership agreement will be signed between Oisans Tourism and the AG2R LA MONDIALE pro cycling team for the next training camps.
Twenty-eight riders will train in Vaujany. Unfortunately, Canadian Hugo Houle and New Zelander Jesse Sergent, one of the three team’s recruits, will be absent. They will join the team later in Spain from the 8th to the 18th of December.
"First of all, I would like to thank the Hautes-Alpes Departmental Tourism Committee for its contribution. They received us with open arms for the last five seasons and, definitely, helped us to write new pages of our team history," manager Vincent Lavenu said.
"Moreover, the heart of the team is in the Alps that is why it is always an honor to train in Oisans, close to our headquarters. We love to be right in the middle of these Oisans mountains because it is the perfect playground for us. This winter training camp is also a substantial moment to strengthen team cohesion. Indeed, our roster did not dramatically change but there is an evolution concerning our managerial staff.
"To be honest, we are organising these meetings not only for physical training but also to share great moments of conviviality. It really matters to us because we will need to stand together in the decisive parts of the season."
In addition to Sergent, the team has signed neo-pro Francois Bidard and Cyril Gautier (Europcar).
